With digital dentistry and CAD/CAM technology, it is now possible for us to prepare a tooth for a ceramic crown, fabricate the crown in our in-house dental lab, and cement the crown on the same day.

What are the benefits of doing a same day crown compared to the traditional way crowns are made?

The biggest benefit is efficiency! Traditionally, teeth that require crowns need to be protected with a temporary crown for 1-2 weeks while you wait for the final crown to be made and delivered back to the clinic. With same day crowns, the entire process is completed within the span of a few hours.

What should I expect on the day of my same day crown appointment?

Typically, we take about 1 hour to prepare and scan your teeth for the crown. Our dental lab then designs and fabricates the crown in 1.5 - 2 hours. During this time, you are free to relax in our waiting area and enjoy some coffee or light snacks. When the crown is ready, we proceed to cement it onto your tooth and you leave the clinic with your brand new final ceramic crown.
